Hi there,

Once I am trying to run aem3d, I am getting the following warning message:

With ELCOM, I've simulated the same thing successfully without this "no valid area" error. What's the reason of this warning message here? I checked my bc and bathymetry files and everything seems okay.

Hi Behnam,

This warning means that during these periods there is no "wet area" for your bc, i'e none of the the cells defined in your bc.dat file are contacting wet cells in the domain.  The model needs an are so that it can calculate the inflow velocity.

To fix you need to extend your bc further into the domain so that it remains wet during periods of low surface level.

While there was no error given in ELCOM the flows during this period were just ignored silently.

Hi Chris,

I changed as you mentioned and it did work. Thanks!
