Varying mixing efficiency - Hydronumerics Q&A

Hi

I've being having a small problem with mild over mixing. I've played around with varying the wind drag coefficient and the heating coefficient but i can't seem to get it right. Is there a more direct way to change the mixing efficiency?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

David

Hi David,  there are some undocumented coefficients you can modify these are (with the defaults)

mixing_coeff_ce    = 1.15 ! Ce=dissipation
mixing_coeff_cs    = 0.15 ! Cs=shear
mixing_coeff_cn    = 1.33 ! Cn=wind stirring
mixing_coeff_cc    = 0.2  ! Cc=convective
mixing_coeff_cb    = 2.2  ! Cb=btm generation
mixing_coeff_ct    = 50.0 ! Ct=mixing time coeff
mixing_coeff_cct   = 1.0  ! Cct=Convective overturning time coefficient

Just add these keys to your run_aem3d.dat to modify them.
