Issues with Draft tube producing very cold water in the bottom of the water body - Hydronumerics Q&A

HI

I'm trying to model a mechanical mixer within a reservoir, I have been using draft-tube module (though the mixer in question doesn’t have draft-tube). However, when I placed the draft tube into the reservoir the model start producing cold temperatures (~5ºC) at the base of the water body. I tried this on two separate bathymetries to make sure it’s not site specific, but it happens in both cases. These reservoirs are in the UK during the summer, so these temperatures aren’t to be expected.

Any suggests about resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

David
